Falcon Finance expanded Staking Vaults with the latest addition: starting today, holders of ESPORTS, the native utility token of the Yooldo Games ecosystem, can now earn stable yield.
This is an opportunity to maintain full exposure to the upside of ESPORTS tokens while generating a predictable, non-inflationary return in USDf, Falcon’s synthetic dollar.
The ESPORTS staking vault is designed for long-term believers in the Yooldo ecosystem who want their idle assets to be productive during the holding period.
How Does the ESPORTS Staking Vault Work?
The process of staking in the ESPORTS vault is straightforward:
- Go to the ESPORTS vault’s page, connect the wallet that holds your ESPORTS tokens, choose how much you want to stake, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
- ESPORTS tokens will be locked up in the vault for 180 days. Throughout this period, you will receive daily yield in USDf tokens.
- Accrued yield can be claimed on the vault’s page.
The vault accepts stakes until it reaches its maximum capacity of 25 million ESPORTS tokens.
ESPORTS Staking Vault: Yield Calculation Example
To illustrate the potential returns, let’s look at a hypothetical scenario over a 12-month period:
- Initial deposit: 2,000 ESPORTS
- ESPORTS price at deposit: $0.50
- Total value locked: $1,000
- APR: 20% (stable)
Unlike standard staking where you earn yields in the same unit of token, which may incur more volatility in market conditions, Falcon vault pays rewards in USDf. With a stable 20% APR, the yield is calculated against the dollar value of your deposited assets.
Calculation: $1,000 (Principal) x 20% (APR) = $200 in rewards (or about $98 after the end of the lock-up period)
Thus, at the end of the lock-up period (180 days), you will get all your principal (deposited ESPORTS tokens) back, plus ~$98 of yield, paid to you in USDf throughout the tenure.
Note that actual rewards are calculated based on the current value of deposited ESPORTS tokens, which will change following ESPORTS price. Current vault’s APR can also change over time.
The Yooldo Ecosystem and ESPORTS Utility
The ESPORTS is a utility token of the project called Yooldo Games, a multi-chain Web3 gaming platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional gaming and blockchain technology. Unlike many GameFi projects that prioritize complex tokenomics over gameplay, Yooldo focuses on sustainable play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics, aiming to provide a seamless user experience that mimics centralized exchanges to lower the barrier to entry for non-crypto natives.
The platform’s flagship title, Trouble Punk: Cyber Galz, is a 3D battle royale action game where skill determines the outcome. Players are not just passive participants: they own their in-game assets as NFTs and contribute to the platform’s growth through a “jury DAO” system set up to prevent abuse and ensure fair play.
ESPORTS token’s primary utilities include:
- Governance: ESPORTS holders can vote on critical platform decisions, including prize pool allocations and platform upgrades.
- Tournaments: ESPORTS is used to pay entry fees for competitive leagues and tournaments within games like Trouble Punk.
- In-game economy: ESPORTS functions as the currency for purchasing game items, breeding (in future iterations), and rewarding high-performing players.
To incentivize economic stability, the ESPORTS tokenomics allocate roughly 35% of the supply to player rewards, ensuring long-term engagement while maintaining value through deflationary sinks like tournament costs. To avoid the hyper-inflationary pitfalls, common in early P2E models, Yooldo capped ESPORTS’ total supply at 900 million tokens.
With the newly launched staking vault, Falcon Finance adds a new layer of utility for ESPORTS holders: passive yield generation. This allows long-term holders to earn stable returns on their tokens without needing to actively compete in tournaments or liquidate their holdings.
